Spoon Feeding

Oh yes, we tried to spoon feed her a little cereal. I'm not sure how much she actually swallowed but it was fun!

She's getting so big!

Jael continues to grow and learn new things everyday. She has certainly discovered her voice and YELLS frequently! She has also discovered the art of spitting which she does most of the time resulting in her bib being more of a wet rag around her neck. Daddy continues to be creative with her during the day. As you can see in the picture she is wearing a bib as a hat. (Luke was very proud!)

We took a trip to New England and although it was pretty exhausting she did really well. She slept through the night even though she was completely out of her routine. Once again we were reminded of our weaknesses as parents and got frustrated that she did not always do what we wanted her to. Fortunately we are able to see this about ourselves and learn (and are still learning) patience. She seems to have developed a personality just like her moms and it has come about on this trip. She smiles and giggles at everyone who makes eye contact with her (I'm not saying that I do that!). She certainly likes to talk back and forth with us. She's so fun!
The picture below is at a lighthouse in Maine. We went here our very first day in New England.

Vaccines :-(

Well yesterday I had to take Jael for her first round of vaccines. We waited this long because her pediatrition said that if she is not in daycare it is sometimes better to wait so their system can handle the vaccines better. She got 2 shots in each leg. It was extremely traumatic for me. Having to hold her down while they hurt her was something I was not emotionally prepared for. I cried several times yesterday, long after she had stopped and was her smiley self again. She was pretty exhausted all day and took several long naps. Her little thighs just swelled up. Luckily she did not get a fever or any sort of rash. I still tear up today when I think about how hard she cried. I know that as a parent I'll have to do things for my children that are not easy but I decided that for the next round, daddy is going to have to take her.

She laughed!

Last night I was getting Jael ready for bed. In preparation to close her diaper I put some powder on her bum. Well the powder ended up in her bellybutton. So I lean down to blow the powder out of her belly button and a huge cloud of white smoke covered my face. I began to wave my arms around and cough and my daughter starts CRACKING UP! We are talking full out laughing. It was the cutest thing in the world! So I run to get the camera, I start to record and she continued to laugh as I continued to wave my arms around. Once she started to lose interest I wanted to see the video. In trying to see the video I accidently deleted it!!!!!! I was so mad! I tried to get her to laugh again but the moment had passed. But she laughed!
